Summary

In a world of swords and sorcery, a ritual summons the “sorcerer king” who will bring ruin—but all it coughs up is an ordinary boy from Earth. Review

This is a really fun isekai manga! The main character wakes up having been summoned to another world, with no memory of who he is. He’s a super powerful magic user, but has no idea what he’s doing and (in true isekai fashion) it turns out his power is very strong but also sort of one-note and not very useful. So he makes himself a friend and sets off on an adventure!

I really love the main character, he’s so thoughtful and methodical in figuring things out, and also kind of klutzy and stumbles into some things through sheer luck. HIs relationship with his golem is so cute! The world building is also really cool with the different kinds of magic, and the twists on things from our world (like his cranberry apple-samas, lol). I think I can figure out where the plot is going through some clues and the title, but I’m still really excited to read more of this series and see what happens next.

This is the first volume in this series. There’s a bonus short story at the end told in a light novel format that I didn’t read because it just seemed… not well written, as has been my experience with most light novels. I wish the bonus had been in the form of more manga.
