Summary

Spencer
Whose brilliant idea was it to build university housing next to one of Franklin U’s most notorious party frats?

I’m a real student—the kind who actually came to college to learn, not some dumb frat bro who sees Franklin U as a four-year challenge to consume the most booze and throw out the best pick-up line.
Their all-hours lifestyle is driving me crazy. Not to mention, the jerks keep taking my assigned parking spot.

But the worst offender might be Cory Ingram. Sure, he has a smile that could melt a polar ice cap, but no way will I ever be one of his minions. I’m pretty sure I made that clear when I blew my top at him. So I have no idea why he’s suddenly everywhere around me, turning on the charm like I might actually fall for it.

Nope. Not gonna happen.

Cory
From the first day I set foot on Franklin U’s campus, everything has been golden. I have a ton of friends, endless parties to be the life of, and whoever I want in my bed on any given night. Sure, I’m a shameless party boy, but I’m not a jerk. Ask anyone. Seriously.

Even the crotchety old groundskeeper waves and smiles at me when I pass.

Then there’s Spencer Crow. I’ve never seen a guy’s face get so red over a parking spot. Even when I try to make it right, he proceeds to give me the tongue-lashing of a lifetime—which is about the moment I notice that, in addition to being irrationally irate, he’s also crazy hot.

My friends think I’ve finally met the one person I can’t seduce…

Bet you I can.

Review

Rating: 4 out of 5.

If you’re reading the Franklin U series in order, you’ll know that Liam TRIED to warn Spence that the LaL house is right next to the DIK frat house in book three, Mr. Romance. If only Spence had listened… LOL

This is sort of enemies to lovers but not? There needs to be a trope category for one-sided animosity to lovers, haha. Spencer first meets frat boy Cory in less than ideal circumstances – Cory has just stolen Spencer’s assigned parking spot, and is just another in a long line of his frat bros to do so and yet receives the full force of Spencer’s tired, garbage-smelling wrath.

It’s been a while since I read a brought together by a bet trope, and yes, the third act drama is exactly what you’d expect from this trope, but I still enjoyed the heck out of it anyway. The book as a whole is a bit predictable, but still a really fun, flirty, fluffy read.

I really REALLY like Cory. I guess like everyone else I have fallen prey to his relentless good-natured charm. Spencer is also interesting and I love that he’s passionate about cosplay and conventions (when he has time between work and school, anyway). Cosplay nerds unite!! I was almost as invested in the relationship between Cory and Spence’s besties as I was in the main romance storyline. I think we also get a little glimpse of a couple of the other leads in the upcoming books, and I’m already really excited for Remy’s book!!

This is the fourth book in the Franklin U series. The FUKings books are all standalones set in the same universe and each written by a different author. As the blurb in the front matter says, “You don’t need to read the other to enjoy this one (though you should, because they’re awesome).” Can confirm 10/10 are awesome.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are unbiased and my own.
